WHY I DON’T CHASE SCALE — I CHASE NET INCOME AND CONTROL

Hey Team,

You hear it all the time in business content:
“Scale is the name of the game.”
Build bigger. Raise capital. Hire fast. Grow fast.
The whole world seems obsessed with getting huge as quickly as possible.
But I’m not playing that game.
I’m not chasing scale.
I’m chasing net income, control, and compounding.
And I think that’s what more people should be chasing—especially those who already have capital and don’t need outside validation to feel like they’re winning.
🧠 Bigger Doesn’t Mean Better
Let’s be honest: a lot of “scaled” businesses are just bloated.
They’re raising millions, hiring dozens, and posting screenshots of growth… while losing money every single month.
They’ve scaled revenue—but not profit.
They’ve added complexity—but not freedom.
They own a business—but they feel owned by the business.
I didn’t want that.
I wanted something simpler, cleaner, and more profitable.
🔁 What I’m Building at 42 Solutions
I took the capital I earned in my first career—playing 9 years in the NFL—and built a private lending company that’s designed to be lean and cash-flow heavy.
Here’s how:
I deploy my own capital first — so I’m never overextended
I lend short-term, real estate-backed — so I can recycle fast
I charge interest, points, and fees — so I capture multiple income streams
I keep the team small — so my margins stay high
There’s no bloat.
No investors breathing down my neck.
No pressure to “10x” just to stay afloat.
Instead, I get to reinvest profits, reduce risk, and build a compounding flywheel — all without losing control.
💡 Scale Is Only Worth It If You’re Netting More and Owning More
That’s my filter.
If adding more people, more capital, or more complexity doesn’t increase my net income or equity ownership — I’m not interested.
More deals? Only if they’re profitable.
More capital? Only if it doesn’t dilute my returns or control.
More people? Only if they increase operational efficiency, not overhead.
I’m not anti-scale. I’m anti-unprofitable scale.
🧭 Final Word
You don’t need to build big to build wealth.
You need to build smart.
You need to build lean.
And you need to build something you actually want to own in 5, 10, 20 years.
For me, that’s a business with:
✅ Strong net income
✅ High margin
✅ Simple operations
✅ Clear control
That’s what I’m building every day at 42 Solutions.
And I’ll take that over chasing scale all day.
